With a variety of membership opportunities available, including a special promotion on Sports Memberships that is available until March 31st, residents of The Ronto Group’s 26-floor, 120-unit Seaglass high-rise tower will enjoy the Bonita Bay Club’s new Tennis and Aquatic Center scheduled for completion this spring. Construction of the Seaglass tower will be completed this summer. Sales contracts worth nearly $148 million have been processed and the tower is 63% sold. Three furnished models are open for viewing with a sales associate. Seaglass will feature fully-completed residences with designer-selected premium finishes, including flooring, paint, and trim. Each residence includes two protected access under-building parking spaces. Private enclosed two-car garages are available. Three tower open-concept floor plans range from 2,889 to 3,421 square feet and are priced from the low $1 million’s. The tower residences will include dual private elevator foyers, island kitchens, three bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths, or three bedrooms plus a den or fourth bedroom and three-and-a-half baths, walk-in closets in the owner’s suite, and sliders opening to multiple outdoor spaces that include a gas grill. Ten-foot ceiling heights are included per plan.
The new Tennis and Aquatic Center will continue the expansion of the Bonita Bay Club’s extensive tennis facilities. A re-arrangement and slight expansion of the 18-court tennis complex was completed in December 2015 and included the addition of a Championship Court and two tournament oversized courts. To provide a focal point of the new Tennis and Aquatic Center, the Club is building an 8,000-square foot Sports Center positioned between the tennis complex and the aquatic area. This new Sports Center will include a tennis pro shop with a professional staff, racquet services, a tennis retail shop, and a relaxing lobby area as well as dedicated men’s and ladies’ tennis locker rooms. A covered patio will overlook and run the entire length of the new Championship Court and provide a prime location for viewing matches. The Breezeway Bar and Café will feature poolside or courtside outdoor dining and offer casual fare, including salads, grilled items, and fresh sandwiches. An open-air bar under roof will be available for a post-match or poolside beverage. Court assignment television monitors will be placed throughout the facility. A multi-purpose room will be available for meetings, event food stations, private dining, and tournament preparation. The renovated pool will include four lap lanes, a beach entry, and a spa.
In addition to the Tennis and Aquatic Center, five new pickleball courts have already been completed. Located adjacent to the Bonita Bay Club’s Lifestyle Center, the cushioned/Laykold Gel courts are equipped with LED lighting. The pickleball complex includes a championship court and an IPTA certified professional.
Named Private Facility of the Year by Tennis Industry Magazine, Bonita Bay Club’s tennis operations are overseen by Director of Tennis and USPTA Master Professional Paula Scheb and a staff that includes two additional certified tennis professionals. Scheb is the only Master Professional in Southwest Florida. The Master Professional designation is the highest accreditation given by the USPTA and is earned via coaching credentials, educational articles published, volunteer work, and speaking assignments. Less than 1% of the USPTA’s more than 14,000 members have earned Master Professional status.
“About 750 members play tennis, so it is a very popular sport within the Bonita Bay Club,” said Scheb. “We truly are a member centric club. Everything we do, every decision we make, is based on trying to create a better tennis experience for our members. We have new member orientations, ambassador programs, weekly round robins to level, and 41 special events during the season that include both tennis and socializing. Some of the events are more competitive, some less. With all we offer, we can help new members find the right level and a group to play tennis with very quickly. Most importantly, the Bonita Bay Club’s tennis program has an unprecedented level of support from the board of directors and the general manager.”
Tennis is offered at all levels from 2.5 to 4.5 for both the men and women who play recreationally and in competitive leagues. While each staff member brings their different personality to instruction, the instructional approach is foundationally the same and offers a level of consistency that is rare within club environments. To ensure students are receiving the same message from one lesson to the next, each instructor subscribes to a consistent, written approach to specific doubles strategy and stroke production. The overriding goal is to present a united teaching front that eliminates confusion and ensures that each member understands their specific goals. To track the progress of the instruction, written notes are taken and sent to each student. In addition, a member of the professional staff attends and watches each of the Club’s member home league matches and follows up with written notes to the captains of the 20 teams that participate during Winter Season.
The courts at the Club’s tennis complex are modified hydro-courts, the latest in subsurface clay court technology. Bonita Bay Club is the only club in Florida with the PlaySight system that provides a video and statistical analysis of play during matches. Available several of the Club’s courts, PlaySight tracks every shot and provides players with the same information touring professionals receive. A tennis buyer ensures the equipment and apparel available to members is the latest in the industry.
