Future Seaglass Residents Impressed by Standard and Custom Finish Selections

Future residents of the 26-floor, 120-unit Seaglass high-rise tower at Bonita Bay continue to be impressed by the caliber and range of the standard and custom finish selections the award-winning Ronto Group is making available to homebuyers. Numerous buyers have taken advantage of Ronto’s innovative Finishing Touches Program that allows future residents to select finishes for their home’s flooring, cabinetry, countertops, door hardware, plumbing fixtures, and paint colors. The level of customization and flexibility available through the Program is extremely rare. The quality and variety of the kitchen and bath cabinetry choices provide an indication of the extent to which Ronto is ensuring each residence is finished to each owner’s specific tastes.

Future residents visiting the Seaglass Design Studio located in the Seaglass Sales Center are invited to meet with Mary Kelley Zajaczkowski, Lead Designer for the Gulf Atlantic Design Group, the provider of cabinetry products at Seaglass. Zajaczkowski presents the standard cabinetry layout. If the future resident chooses to customize their cabinets, she will go through the standard layout cabinet by cabinet to ensure changes are made to accommodate the resident’s preferences. She then creates a set of 3-D renderings for the resident’s review and approval.

“I oversee every design to make sure it is up to our standards and up to the client’s standards,” said Zajaczkowski. “What makes our product special is the finish and the quality. Even the base level that we offer comes with soft closing doors and drawers, 5/8” Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) boxes finished in a maple melamine, and dovetailed drawer boxes. Plywood boxes with ½” plywood drawer bottoms are available. We go all the way up to doing curved radius cabinetry and any kind of custom built-in can be designed and fabricated – entertainment centers, dining room buffets, built-ins, or decorative furniture pieces the client might want to customize to match their cabinetry.”

All of the available cabinet door choices can be used on either an MDF box or a plywood box. Various door styles are available, including a traditional raised panel, a transitional style recessed panel, and contemporary styles such as shaker, flat center panel with square frames, and ultra-clean lined slab doors. Each of the styles can come with a “touchless” opening system. An upgraded C channel stainless steel or aluminum track can be utilized in between the doors and drawers that allows the user to simply reach in and pull the drawer out. The cabinet doors are either birch or maple. Painted doors consist of maple frames with an MDF center panel that minimizes the movement of the center panel. Low Volatile Organic Compound paints or stains are used to finish the cabinets to ensure residents are not exposed to lingering unhealthy gases.

The Gulf Atlantic Design Group works directly with future residents of Seaglass to design and produce specialty pieces that can enhance both the look and the functionality of the home. These could include entertainment centers, built-ins, buffets for the dining room, and unique furniture pieces.

“When it comes to specialty pieces, the process starts with a meeting with the client,” said Zajaczkowski. “I ask questions about their lifestyle – do they like to entertain, do they have grandchildren our young children and get a sense of how they like to use their spaces. Some clients will bring inspiration photos that give me an idea of what they like and don’t like. I come up with something I think will suit their needs. It’s a back and forth process sometimes. I’ll send them a rendering and they’ll sometimes say ‘Well, we’d like a little more shelving or a little more storage,’ and I come up with something that’s totally customized for the client. Those custom pieces can be made out of the same doors and finishes that are standard, but they don’t have to be. Really, the sky is the limit.

A fully outfitted kitchen featuring the finishes and Thermadore appliances available at Seaglass is included at the Design Studio, as well as stone, porcelain, and wood flooring and carpet selections; granite, marble, and quartz countertops; decorative backsplashes; trim, doors, faucets, and plumbing fixtures; and a gas grill. Future residents are invited to meet with the Finishing Touches Coordinator along with their own interior designer and may also specify finishes from other sources.
